The Capriccio Restaurant in Temple Fortune is one of the area's longest established Italian restaurants. It is a family-run establishment where the chef has a passion for food that is evident in the mouth­watering dishes on offer.

As well as having an extensive a la carte menu, the Capriccio also offers two-course set lunch menus at £13.90 and three-course set lunches at £15.90. The lunches are available Tuesdays to Saturdays with a choice of over 10 starters and main courses, including daily specials.

The Capriccio also offers a three-course set dinner menu at £25.50, with a choice of over 20 starters and 20 main courses. This is available Tuesdays to Fridays and Sunday. There is also a very popular three-course Sunday lunch menu at £22.50. All the set menus offer a variety of dishes and are excellent value for money.

Customers can soak in the buzzing atmosphere and order seasonal dishes from the chef's specials as well as more traditional delights from the a la carte menu, such as pan­fried goat's cheese with baby spinach salad and shallots vinaigrette, or pan-fried fois gras on a bed of brioche served with a light port wine sauce.

You can also try a number of fresh pasta dishes such as linguine with lobster. These can be followed by veal cutlet with fresh asparagus or Dutch calves liver with soft onions.

The many fish dishes include fresh grilled tuna steak on a bed of rocket topped with diced tomatoes with a balsamic vinegar dressing, or Dover sole - always available and cooked to your choice.

All desserts, such as the classic tiramisu or the wonderfully creamy and light pannacotta with wild berries, are home-made.

The Capriccio has an excellent wine list with a variety of Italian wines as well as some international wines, with a selection of reasonably priced house wines which are also available by the glass.

The Capriccio Restaurant is a great place for families or for a relaxing romantic dinner. It has first class food and a lovely and welcoming atmosphere, and is definitely worth a visit.
